Ark Nova, Sanctuary, WBG and Kekpop – the first milestones laid down by Mathias Wigge.

Deep down a passionate board game player, Mathias muses day and night about game design, game mechanics and the best game move… if he hasn’t just considered building a Cube himself for his old true love Magic: The Gathering and is sitting at the table with his favorite toy: THE KADOMARU…driving his team crazy with the constant clattering of curving his cards with it.

During studying commercial information technology his enthusiasm for analog board games returned – his lifelong passion has probably been sparked by his board game-savvy mom in his childhood. His absolute favorites are Twilight Struggle, Agricola and Great Western Trail.

While during the day business issues are addressed and anything else that comes his way (see Kadomaru 😉), it is usually during the night that he is blessed by the muse – not at all unusual for a true nightowl. It is then when in the silence of the night new ideas for games are developed, which – as soon as prototypes are crafted – his most inner board game friends circle puts to the proof in further night sessions.

Since February 2026 this year Henning has joined the team as executive assistant. His first duty of the day is not rarely to test Mathias’ results of the last night session.
